As an Advanced Applications Engineer at 3D Systems Corp. I was a member of the advanced innovation group, contributing to the development and support of industrial 3D printing applications. The team assisted clients in design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and rapid prototyping using additive manufacturing over a wide array of applications. I engaged with clients to identify novel applications and address operational challenges. Conducting precision benchmarks for diverse applications, I showcased a commitment to delivering tailored, high-quality solutions on a per application basis. Guiding customers material selection and in analyzing dimensional accuracy to ensure optimal 3D prints and post processing solutions. I orchestrated beta tests for upcoming applications and materials, staying proactive in industry advancements. Additionally, I designed components showcased at tradeshows and exhibitions, emphasizing advancements in materials and applications. The team and I also oversaw the laboratory’s regular operation and maintenance of various 3D printers, including SLS, SLA, DLP, and MJP engines, demonstrating my commitment to efficiency, productivity, and safety in the workspace. Deutsch style connector. This hero/ sales demonstration piece showcases the release of a new material; Tough FR V0 Black. With a flame retardant rating at FAR 25.853 it passes UL94 V0 test standards making it ideal for aircraft and automotive electrical connectors, knobs, grommets, and spacers. End-use manufacturing of high-volume small plastic parts, printed circuit board covers electrical and under-hood housing tough covers, hangers, brackets and flame retardant parts for trains and buses. These connectors feature design elements as small 0.5mm and include full pin and socket wiring; they also showcase small run injection molded silicone end caps. Plug and play anyone? Connector body printed in Tough FR V0 Black - DLP/Figure 4 @ 30 um. Tooling printed in EGGSHELL-AMB 10 DLP/Figure 4 @ 50um.
Cessna cockpit panel section and accessories. Another hero/sales demonstration piece featuring Tough FR V0 Black. This panel with its moving knobs, pulls, and two five part gauge bodies is a great interactive piece and a good demonstrator of in-cockpit end-use parts in an aerospace application. The sky is no longer the limit with Tough FR in small run end-use applications. Both printed in Tough FR V0 Black. Panel - SLA 750 @ 100um. Accessories - DLP/Figure 4 @ 50 um.
